Debut designers, Torie Greenberg and Claire Smith, launched their own women’s ready to wear line, Weldon Layne, after just two years of studies at Parsons School of Design where they are continuing their degrees. Their combined experience gave them the confidence they needed to dive into this endeavor. Torie has worked at Libertine, Vogue, and Jill Stuart while Claire gained experience at Brian Reyes and Intermix. The name Weldon Layne is derived from the combination of their middle names, Claire Weldon and Torie Layne. The design duo creates understated elegant clothes that reflect an attitude within the wearer. They focus on the fresh attitude that fashion provokes and the confidence a woman feels when she looks beautiful. Each garment is a piece of luxury with hand-sewn details and the finest fabrics. Weldon Layne produces clothes of superior quality that are wearable and sophisticated as well as timeless over trendy.
